Hello, all! I'm JainaKay, known to friends and family as Brittany Dowdy. For those of you new to my LJ, welcome! I'm extremely excited about this blog and the recognition it's getting me - all of a sudden, people are finding me and reading what I have to say, which is all kinds of awesome. So, my plan is to update more often and with things that are relevant to a wider audience. Here's hoping I'm successful.
As for me, I'm a couple of months shy of finishing a Bachelor's degree in English, concentration Creative Writing, from Colorado State University. After that, my plan is to go to seminary in the fall and earn a Master's in theology - I don't particularly want to be a pastor, but I do want to write for God, preferably apologetics, and I think seminary is a great way to make myself a creditable voice in the Christian world. I know people who will not listen to anyone's arguments about Christianity because the person does not have a degree from a seminary. While I think this is wrong (and downright ridiculous), I'm willing to meet them where they are in this, and besides, I think a seminary program would be fantastic. I know that many people lose their faith going into seminary, but in my case I really don't think that's much of a concern. I've had plenty of challenges to my faith so far, and each one has only left me stronger than I was before. Refiner's fire, and all that.
So, that's me! If you're looking for more, check out some entries!
